Dr. Nand Kishore Garg
A senior BJP leader and Ex- MLA from Trinagar Assembly constituency in Delhi, Dr. Garg is known among the masses for his selfless service and dedicated efforts for the upbringing of the society. He is indulged in various noble causes towards the development and improvement of Delhi as well as adjoining states such as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. Dr Garg has the potential to lead the party in the state. He was bestowed with Best MLA Award (1998-2003) by Delhi Assembly on 17th June, 2003. Also, he was a member of MCD from 1983-1989 representing Karampura Area. He was in the chair of Parliamentary Secretary of Chief Minister Shri. Saheb Singh Verma.
In addition to his contribution to social work, Shri Garg is also actively engaged in the field of education. He has been bestowed with many awards and accolades for his contribution to education, social work and politics.
He has been honored with D.Litt degree by one of the oldest Universities of India, Gurukul University, Haridwar. This is a rare feat achieved by few politicians in the country. The University has honored only 29 dignitaries in the long history of about 100 years. The other persons honored by the university include distinguished personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, PanditJawahar Lal Nehru, Dr. Rajinder Prasad, Shri N.D.Tiwari and Mr. Kapil Dev. Shri Garg has also been bestowed with “Agra Ratna”, “VaishRatna” and “SamajRatna”.
